PSPC produces security products for the federal government, including prize bonds, banknotes, degree certificates, machine-readable passports, checkbooks, and stamps. On March 10, 1949, the Government of Pakistan formed Pakistan Security Printing Corporation as a joint venture with M/s Thomas De La Rue International of the United Kingdom.

However, the Ministry of Finance sold the company to State Bank of Pakistan in July 2017 for Rs. 100 billion, which also included the operations of printing banknotes and prize bonds.
